In Orléans, the province is supporting the following projects:
• AOE Arts Council – $348,600 grant over 36 months to increase future opportunities
where Ottawans are active creators of art.
The projects are part of the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Grow Investment Stream, which
helps organizations expand an existing, proven not-for-profit project.
Our investments will make a difference in people’s lives through activities that encourage
active lifestyles, promote arts and culture, build engaged communities, support a healthy and
sustainable environment, and invest in the positive development of youth and children.
An agency of the Government of Ontario, the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is one of
Canada’s largest granting foundations. With a budget of over $136 million, OTF awards grants
to some 1,000 projects every year to build healthy and vibrant Ontario communities.
Supporting strong, healthy communities is part of our plan to create jobs, grow our economy
and help people in their everyday lives.
“It is always inspiring to see how non-profit and charitable organizations, such as Passerelle
Intégration et Développement Économique, play a key role in enhancing people’s lives by
finding new and innovative ways to address community needs. Ontario believes in equal
opportunity when it comes to grant initiatives that support cultural preservation in
communities. Through the Ontario Trillium Foundation, our government recognizes the good
work and positive impact of projects in communities all across the province.”
— Daiene Vernille, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport
“With the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, AOE Arts Council can continue to deliver
services and initiatives that make a real difference in the lives of residents in Orléans. I am
thrilled our government is supporting these valuable organizations locally, and across Ontario,
and I look forward to seeing the positive impact it has on the community.”
— Marie-France Lalonde, MPP, Ottawa-Orléans
“This Ontario Trillium Foundation Grow grant will enable our organization to engage Ottawans
as active arts creators in their neighbourhoods through 12 community artist-in-residence
projects. They will actively connect artists and community partners helping to build strong
communities. We have seen firsthand in our past projects, Art Place and Neighbourhood Arts
150, how the arts are a catalyst in connecting communities and can support individuals in
feeling more connected. Arts projects inspire community pride and through programs like
these, can inspire continue arts creation and participation in Ottawa.”
