General Arts Funding

Canada Business Ontario, Funding directory for the arts and media

This is a useful and extensive directory for funding sources specifically for the arts and media. It includes the organization’s name, a short description, and their telephone number and website. It includes funding sources that you probably already know, such as the Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council, but it also includes sources you may not know, such as information about various tax credits.

The Canada Council offers a broad range of grants and services to professional Canadian artists and arts organizations in music, theatre, writing and publishing, visual arts, dance, media arts and integrated (multidisciplinary) arts. Ontario Arts Council, Various Grant Programs

The Ontario Arts Council was established in 1963 to foster the creation and production of art for the benefit of all Ontarians. The Ontario Arts Council currently offers more than 65 granting programs to individual artists, collectives, ad hoc groups and organizations in twelve sectors.

Each year we contribute millions of dollars in Canada to hundreds of registered charities through our eleven local TELUS Community Boards. We fund programs that best meet our vision and clearly demonstrate the criteria: Focus on youth; Aligns with our interest in either health, education or the environment; Demonstrates technological innovation in program delivery; Defines and measures social outcomes.
