AOE Gallery Season 2017 Offers Moments for Exchange
April 10, 2017

AOE Arts Council invites the public to meet more artists

Ten local artists and one group will share their work with the public as part of AOE Arts Council’s 2017 gallery season.  The new season of works demonstrate a range of art practice and mediums representative of AOE Arts Council’s visual arts membership.

The AOE Gallery is recognized as one of the Shenkman Arts Centre seven exhibition spaces and is run as a professional gallery with a jury of professional artists to review and select the submissions.

The exhibits and meet the artists events are sponsored by longstanding community partner Caisse populaire Trillium Desjardins, who is a proud supporter of the arts in Ottawa.

Each exhibit features an opportunity to meet the artist(s) with a vernissage, held as part of the Shenkman Arts Centre’s visual arts showcase called the Meet the Artist series.

Meet the Artists at the Shenkman Arts Centre:
This is an invitation to satisfy your curiosity. What motivated the artist? How did they create their work? What was their vision? Will your perspective change? Some or all of the seven exhibition spaces in the Shenkman Arts Centre simultaneously launch receptions to introduce artists and their new exhibits. Enjoy casual conversations with featured artists on select Sunday afternoons and Thursday evenings in July and August from 7 to 9 p.m.

About the AOE Gallery

The AOE Gallery showcases visual art by emerging and professional artists who are members of AOE Arts Council. Exhibits feature works by individual, duo, and artist collectives in 2D and 3D mediums.

The offices of AOE Arts Council double as a gallery space with a lobby and large meeting room as focal exhibiting areas. These spaces are equally suitable for readings, gatherings, meetings and presentations.

AOE Arts Council provides the entire office space to local artists so they can add to their exhibition experience, to sell their work and have conversations with the community.
