Annual AOE Arts Council SELECTIONS 2015 Juried Art Exhibit

Ottawa (Ontario) – AOE Arts Council’s highly anticipated annual juried art exhibit will showcase a range of 37 members’ works from September 24 to October 20 in the Trinity Art Gallery, at the Shenkman Arts Centre.

The public of all ages, members of the arts community and media are invited to the vernissage, on Thursday, September 24 from 7 p.m to 9 p.m. to meet the artists. The three winners of the Juror’s Choice award will be announced at 7:30 p.m. and will each receive a $100 gift certificate from the exhibit’s sponsor DeSerres.

During the exhibition, visitors will be encouraged to cast their vote for the People’s Choice award. The People’s Choice selected artist will be announced on and the AOE Arts Council Facebook page on October 22, and will also receive a $100 gift certificate courtesy of DeSerres.

Responsive to the needs of Ottawa artists, AOE Arts Council is consistently hears that there are just not enough exhibiting spaces for artists. SELECTIONS is an annual juried exhibit that has been organized by the Arts Council for close to 15 years. Its main objectives are to create a month long opportunity for artist members to exhibit in a professional setting and sell their work to the public. The annual exhibit continues to attract the interest of new and emerging artists in the Ottawa region who practice visual art including:  photography, textile arts, marquetry, mixed media, printmaking, sculpture, acrylic, oil, ceramic, drawing and watercolour. This exhibit is one of a few, juried by professionals and highly esteemed by peers, group show opportunities for local artists.
