AOE Arts Council Members Share Their Works with the Public

SELECTIONS 2013 Juried Art Show Winners Announced

Winners of the annual AOE SELECTIONS 2013 juried art show were announced during a vernissage held at the Trinity Art Gallery in the Shenkman Arts Centre. The Juror’s Choice Awards go to Samuel Jan for his piece entitled The Spell, Linda Fredette for her piece entitled Spinal Blur, and Diana Kline for her piece entitled Surfacing. The public is invited to vote for the People’s Choice Award which will be announced October 23, 2013 on AOE Arts Council’s website and Facebook.

SELECTIONS presents a variety of mediums including photography, watercolour, oil paintings, acrylic, ink, graphite, ceramic, sculpture, wood, digital and mixed media art produced by AOE members.

“Being part of this exhibit is a thrill,” says portrait artist Erika Farkas. “It is important for me, as a new artist, to have a venue to share my work with the public.”

The SELECTIONS 2013 jury reviewed 320 submissions from 106 artists. The exhibit features 60 works by 51 local artists and runs from September 26 to October 22, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, in the Trinity Art Gallery at the Shenkman Arts Centre.
