AOE Arts Council Members Show their Best: SELECTIONS 2012 Juried Art Show Winners Announced

Ottawa, Ontario –Winners of the annual AOE SELECTIONS 2012 juried art show were announced during a vernissage held at the Trinity Art Gallery in the Shenkman Arts Centre. The Juror’s Choice Awards go to Richard Charlebois for his piece entitled Humming the Flower, Zelia Soares for her piece entitled Stripe 2, and Maureen Ballagh for her piece entitled Shortcut. The public is invited to vote for the People’s Choice Award which will be announced October 24, 2012 on AOE Arts Council’s website and Facebook.

SELECTIONS presents a variety of mediums including photography, watercolour, oil paintings, acrylic, ink, graphite, ceramic, encaustic, sculpture, marquetry, fibre, digital and mixed media art produced by AOE members.

“The exhibit is one of AOE Arts Council’s most anticipated events,” says Louise Michaud, Program Director at AOE Arts Council and organizer of SELECTIONS. “Our members look forward to sharing their work with the public.”

The SELECTIONS 2012 jury reviewed 233 submissions from 84 artists. The exhibit features 60 works by 51 local artists and runs from September 27 to October 23, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, in the Trinity Art Gallery at the Shenkman Arts Centre.
