AOE SELECTIONS 2011 BRINGS ART TO THE COMMUNITY: Juried Art Show Winners Announced

Ottawa, Ontario –Winners for the annual AOE SELECTIONS 2011 juried art show were announced during the vernissage held at the Trinity Art Gallery in the Shenkman Arts Centre. The Juror’s Choice Awards go to Eryn O’Neill for her piece entitled Juniper Restaurant, Virginia Dupuis for her piece entitled Ernie, and Leigh Archibald for her piece entitled Caught.

The public is invited to vote for the People’s Choice Award which will be announced October 26, 2011 on AOE Arts Council’s website and Facebook.

The show exhibits a wide range of medium including photography, painting, sculpture, wood, fiber and mixed media art produced by AOE members. “SELECTIONS is an exciting opportunity to see what our members are working on,” says Louise Michaud, Program Director at AOE Arts Council and organizer of the exhibit. “It’s an impressive and diverse sampling of our visual artists.”

AOE SELECTIONS 2011 submissions grew from 2010 with 100 different artists who submitted 305 entries. The juried exhibit will feature 60 works by 53 local artists. The show runs from September 29 to October 25, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, in the Trinity Art Gallery at the Shenkman Arts Centre.
