Orléans Festival
June 3-4, 2011 | Shenkman Arts Centre, Orléans
The Orléans Festival took place last June 3rd and 4th under beautiful blue skies and with record crowds of 8500 people, more than triple the attendance of last year’s festival.
With its 3 outdoor and 4 indoor stages, the public had the opportunity to attend various types of performances from magicians to puppets, from multicultural bands to jazz quartets. There was something for everybody. The Play Zone and face painting were a huge hit with the younger crowds while the Taste of Orléans and cake decorating contest were enjoyed by all. Visual artists, artisans, musicians, all were excited to be there and made for a complete art experience! Headliners included Servantes, La Ligue du Bonheur, Eric Leclerc and ZPN.
Did we mention that all the shows were free?! The Orléans Festival is entirely run by dedicated volunteers who want to make this event an annual celebration. Preparations have already started for next year’s festival.
